The endgame choice at "The Purge"

Everything converges at the galaxy center. When you complete the final warps of The Purge and reach the core, the game presents the decision the whole story has been building toward: reset the simulation, or refuse.

Choosing to reset triggers New Beginning. The narrative frames it as your Traveller dissolving and being reborn fresh in the next galaxy in sequence. Choosing to refuse, or simply flying into the center outside the story, still moves you to the next galaxy but without the full narrative framing. Either way you are not deleting your save or starting over from scratch. This is the single biggest misconception about the ending.

What actually carries over

Comes with you: your current starships, your multi-tools, your exocraft, all units, nanites, and quicksilver, your inventory, and your unlocked recipes and milestones.
