21 guides in this category.
This is the category for everything that does not sit inside a single game system: how the game runs on your hardware, how it connects you to other players, and the questlines and features that live off to one side of the main progression.
The platform material matters more than it sounds. No Man’s Sky runs on a wide spread of hardware, from Switch 2 and Steam Deck to a PS5 Pro, and the settings that matter differ substantially between them. Frame-rate problems on PC are usually one of a small number of specific causes rather than general slowness, and shader cache behaviour in particular is frequently misdiagnosed — clearing it is right for a corrupt cache and wrong for a cold one. Cross-save and crossplay have their own limits worth knowing before you plan around them.
The rest covers multiplayer and Nexus missions, Twitch drops and expedition rewards redemption, mods on PC, VR, photo mode, appearance customisation, accessibility and comfort settings, save backup and recovery, achievements, and the hidden questlines — Autophage, Trace of Metal — that are easy to miss entirely. The 2026 update timeline lives here too, and it is the page to check first if you have been away and want to know what changed.
